The Insultec Difference
Insultec is fundamentally different from standard ceramic and other heat reflective coatings. While many reflective coatings still become hot to the touch under direct sunlight, Insultec-coated surfaces remain significantly cooler because Insultec works by re-radiating heat away from the surface rather than simply reflecting light. This reduces heat transfer into the structure below, lowers internal temperatures, and reduces air-conditioning energy consumption.
Conventional ceramic coatings often absorb and retain heat, creating high surface temperatures that can negatively affect nearby equipment, including solar panels. Excess heat reduces solar panel efficiency and electrical output. By keeping roof surfaces cooler, Insultec helps improve solar panel operating conditions and can enhance the performance of bifacial (double-sided) solar panels by increasing reflected and re-radiated energy available to the rear side of the panel. The result is improved energy efficiency, reduced thermal load, and better long-term performance of both buildings and solar systems.

In addition to our standard product range, we are regularly approached to assist with special projects where conventional coatings have failed to solve specific heat penetration or environmental issues.
Some projects involve relatively simple challenges such as mould prevention or moisture-related problems, while others require customised colour formulations, specialised finishes, or performance modifications for demanding operating conditions.
