Ray Brooks, founder and inventor
Raymond Brooks was the founder and inventor of Insultec, developing the technology during the late 1980s and early 1990s after years of research into heat transfer and energy efficiency. His vision was to create a high-performance coating that not only reflected heat, but actively reduced heat transfer through roofs, walls, and other structures.
Under Raymond Brooks’ leadership, Insultec was independently tested by universities, engineers, and corporations in Australia and internationally. The product gained recognition for its ability to reduce surface temperatures, lower energy consumption, and improve building comfort in harsh climates.
Over the past three decades, Insultec has been applied to more than 8 million m² worldwide across residential, commercial, industrial, transport, and defence-related applications, establishing Raymond Brooks as a pioneer in advanced thermal coating technology. Sadly Raymond passed away in 2004 when his wife Janice took over the company until she retired in 2025.
